Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop elegant, efficient, and maintainable Ruby (and/or TypeScript) code that is easy to debug.

• Ensure comprehensive code coverage with tests and conduct manual testing of features, while also reviewing peer contributions.

• Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers on the project's infrastructure components.

• Act as a true team player by continuously enhancing team processes, brainstorming innovative ideas, and communicating updates on progress.

• Mentor team members, offer constructive feedback, and pursue continuous professional development.

• Stay updated by learning new concepts and technologies.

• Design, develop, document, analyze, create, test, or modify computer or cloud-based systems or programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of web development experience with Ruby/Rails.

• More than 5 years of experience working with SQL databases.

• Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, automated software testing, and essential development methodologies.

• Familiarity with GraphQL and Kafka is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React is a benefit.

• Ability to evaluate multiple quality dimensions, such as user impact, failure tolerance, code maintainability, implementation time, security risks, and performance considerations.

• A genuine passion for technology and eagerness to explore new tools and methodologies.

• Skilled in addressing complex problems by evaluating various solutions and selecting the most effective approach.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
