Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services, APIs, and data integration layers that drive essential product features.

• Evaluate design documents, conduct code reviews, and provide input on implementation decisions made by other technical teams.

• Produce clean, efficient, and easily maintainable code while strictly following established coding standards and best practices.

• Improve overall code quality, performance, and security by engaging in comprehensive code reviews.

• Design and optimize database schemas and queries to ensure high performance and system reliability.

• Contribute to the testing infrastructure to enhance code coverage for backend modules.

• Quickly and effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in both development and production environments.

• Enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities of backend modules to facilitate proactive improvements in availability and response times.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java, Kotlin, and/or Scala, including familiarity with a web framework such as Spring.

• Developed and launched large-scale consumer applications with a backend hosted on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) utilizing microservices architecture paradigms.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a strong initiative for independent learning and work.

• In-depth knowledge of REST API design and development for mobile/web applications.

• Proficient understanding of architecture and system design.

• Advanced expertise in the Agile development process.
