This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Oversee and manage Bill Pay backend services to guarantee optimal performance and high availability.
• Independently diagnose and resolve production incidents, even in high-pressure situations.
• Collaborate with customer support to investigate and address both recurring and new issues.
• Design and implement automation solutions (scripts, templates, workflows) to reduce repetitive operational tasks.
• Utilize AI tools effectively to enhance debugging processes, generate code snippets, analyze logs, and create documentation.
• Transform AI experiments into reliable, repeatable workflows and runbooks.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive runbooks, postmortems, and documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Proactively communicate status updates, risks, and obstacles to stakeholders and support teams.
• Identify repetitive or time-consuming operational tasks and create small scripts, templates, automations, or AI-assisted workflows to alleviate challenges.
• Intentionally experiment with AI tools to resolve genuine bottlenecks, rather than simply following trends.
• Assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy before integrating them into production workflows, documentation, scripts, or incident analysis.
• A minimum of 5 years of backend engineering experience, with substantial production support responsibilities.
• Proven expertise in Java for backend services, APIs, and microservices development.
• Proficient in Python for scripting, automation, and tool development.
• Strong SQL skills, with experience in debugging and optimizing database queries.
• Familiarity with MySQL and PostgreSQL in live production settings.
• Hands-on experience using Datadog for monitoring and observability purposes.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Practical knowledge of AWS for deploying and managing services effectively.
• Demonstrated, practical use of AI tools (LLMs, copilots, agents) in everyday tasks, including examples of prompts, automations, or workflows developed.
• Strong skills in incident management, troubleshooting, and communication; capable of reporting status and risks proactively.
• Ability to articulate how AI has transformed workflows through prompt patterns, coding configurations, review cycles, automations, or templates.
• Sound judgment on when to refrain from using AI, along with the ability to validate AI-generated outputs before relying on them.
• Experience in converting one-time AI experiments into repeatable workflows, runbooks, scripts, or team practices.
• Capability to identify genuine workflow bottlenecks and strategically use AI to minimize operational friction.
