Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• You will be part of a team of engineers specializing in Frontend, Backend, SRE, and QA.

• Our teams are structured into cross-functional development groups dedicated to specific verticals.

• This position is available for multiple teams, and we will determine the exact team you will join during the interview process based on business requirements and your preferences.

• No matter which team you are assigned to, your focus will be on developing tools, APIs, and integrations for one of our products.

• Our backend technology stack includes Elixir and Phoenix, paired with a Postgres database. For our front-end, we utilize React and Next.js.

• We employ GitLab for version control and as our CI/CD solution.

• Our applications are hosted on AWS.

• We depend entirely on our CI for deployments, executing multiple deployments each day.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong engineering principles with a proven history of delivering production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.

• Hands-on experience in designing or implementing agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and refining them through iteration.

• Capability to think in systems: clearly define specifications, decompose plans, implement verification, and ensure quality closure.

• Experience with Postgres (or similar databases).

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar).

• Background in Functional Programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, Haskell, etc. (Preferred)

• Experience with Kubernetes (Preferred)

• Knowledge of Docker (Preferred)

• Familiarity with AWS (Preferred)

• Experience with Next.js (Preferred)

• Proficiency in React/Vue/Angular (Preferred)
