This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.
• Take the lead in developing significant projects scoped by the team and engage in cross-team initiatives related to Remote's HR and Payroll products.
• Actively involve yourself in product-related tasks within the team: provide constructive feedback and propose solutions to challenges. Utilize your technical knowledge and expertise to recommend product enhancements.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Offer feedback during code reviews.
• Contribute to the collective codebase.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and business-related issues.
• Engage in activities outside the team, such as support rotations, the hiring process, and RFC discussions.
• Mentor and guide fellow engineers.
• Research, propose, and participate in the implementation of enhancements to our platform.
• Design interfaces with a focus on performance, accessibility, and API architecture.
• Reimagine how engineering tasks are delivered with autonomous agents as the standard execution layer.
• Suggest and implement agentic workflows from start to finish (specification → planning → execution → verification) to expedite outcomes.
• Develop reusable agentic workflows and components within the codebase for teams to apply consistently across various domains.
• Employ verification loops (such as tests, checks, evaluations, and guardrails) to ensure that results are accurate, secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Strong engineering principles and a proven history of delivering production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
• Hands-on experience in designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows (or similar systems) and iteratively enhancing them.
• Capability to think systematically: clearly define specifications, break down plans, implement verification, and ensure quality is maintained.
• Proficiency in Postgres (or a similar database).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar).
• Nice to have: Familiarity with Functional Programming languages like Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, Haskell, etc.; experience with Kubernetes; Docker; AWS; Next.js; React/Vue/Angular.
