Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain core APIs and backend services.

• Take ownership of operations and monitoring for production systems.

• Integrate external systems and APIs into the platform.

• Lead the design and implementation of new features and services.

• Identify best practices and establish or recommend engineering standards.

• Document and illustrate solutions through documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

• Mentor junior team members and assist in onboarding new hires.

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to provide high-quality solutions.

• Share insights and present accomplishments and results in relevant meetings.

• Occasionally extend backend modifications to the frontend.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in designing and developing scalable backend services in a contemporary production environment.

• Strong expertise in Go programming language.

• Profound understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.

• Proficient in SQL and relational database design.

• General knowledge of frontend technologies and the capability to perform basic tasks in frontend applications.

• Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and the ability to quickly learn and navigate complex systems.

• Clear, direct, and respectful communication skills.

• Excellent proficiency in English.

• Located within a European time zone.

• Inquisitive and eager to explore new software development methods, frameworks, AI tools, or practices.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is preferred.

• Must be based in Europe (including the UK) only.

• Valid right to work is required.
