Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design, development, and deployment of scalable backend services utilizing Node.js and TypeScript.

• Take charge of system architecture decisions, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and maintainability across services.

• Create and manage robust APIs (REST/GraphQL), with an emphasis on scalability, security, and well-defined contracts.

• Optimize SQL and NoSQL databases to handle high-load, production environments effectively.

• Oversee cloud infrastructure on AWS and engage with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Apply best practices in testing, performance, observability, and security.

• Work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to convert complex requirements into technical solutions.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and lead improvements throughout the stack.

• Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a strong engineering culture and promoting continuous improvement.

• Utilize modern AI-assisted development tools to enhance delivery while upholding high-quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in backend development with a strong emphasis on Node.js and TypeScript.

• Proficient in English.

• Demonstrated experience in designing scalable, high-performance systems and APIs (REST/GraphQL).

• In-depth expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or DynamoDB).

• Comprehensive experience working with AWS and cloud-native architectures.

• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production settings.

• Strong grasp of best practices for system performance, scalability, and observability.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and contemporary development workflows.

• Ability to collaborate across teams and convey technical concepts clearly in English.
