Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Saudi Arabia.

📋 Description

• System Leadership: Oversee and engage in the design, development, and upkeep of backend systems and APIs.

• Scalable Architecture: Design and implement robust backend solutions that can accommodate increasing user demands and changing business needs.

• Quality Standards: Uphold high coding standards, perform comprehensive code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices for maintainability and readability.

• Performance Optimization: Detect system bottlenecks and enhance code and algorithms to boost overall performance.

• Proactive Monitoring: Establish monitoring and debugging tools to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high system availability.

• Testing & Reliability: Create extensive test suites—including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests—to guarantee backend reliability.

• Mentorship: Offer guidance to junior developers to encourage technical growth within the team.

• Documentation: Document code, APIs, and technical processes to promote knowledge sharing and facilitate onboarding.

⛳️ Requirements

• Location: Candidates **must** reside in the **EMEA or APAC** regions.

• Technical Expertise: A strong professional background in **TypeScript** and **Node.js** is essential.

• Stellar Experience: Demonstrated experience working with the **Stellar network** in production settings.

• Blockchain Background: Prior experience in the blockchain domain with a technical grasp of the EVM ecosystem (or other blockchain environments). Familiarity with Stellar’s **Soroban** smart contracts is a significant advantage.

• Seniority: Extensive professional experience in a similar capacity at a senior or lead level.

• Infrastructural Knowledge: A solid understanding of document databases (MongoDB), caching solutions (Redis), and system architecture design.

• Soft Skills: Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a proactive manner.

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science is considered advantageous.

• Language: Strong written and verbal English proficiency for effective communication with stakeholders.
