Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop accurate, efficient, clean, robust, and maintainable code primarily using Java 21+

• Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to mitigate current errors and prevent future regressions

• Engage in code reviews to gain insights from peers and share your knowledge with them

• Experiment with new technologies and libraries that can streamline processes and enhance productivity

• Produce clear and concise documentation for users interacting with your systems

• Recognize common issues across various systems and devise shared solutions through libraries

• Design new systems and features with moderate complexity

• Provide time estimates for design implementations to assist in future planning

• Guide and mentor junior engineers

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with several of the following development technologies: Java, SpringBoot, PostgreSQL or other relational databases, Apache Kafka, Docker

• At least 5 years of experience with microservice architectures, synchronous REST communication over HTTP, and asynchronous communication via Apache Kafka

• Profound understanding of database transactions and locking mechanisms

• Familiarity with algorithms and data structures for load distribution, such as sharding and leadership election

• 2 years of experience with logging and metrics technologies: Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana (Preferred)

• 1 year of experience with the following infrastructure technologies: AWS, Github Actions, Kubernetes, Istio, Terraform, Terragrunt (Preferred)

• Proficiency in the Spanish language (Preferred)

• Experience in the Fintech sector or within a fast-paced startup environment (Preferred)
