Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot.

• Create and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems that facilitate critical business workflows.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, to provide seamless end-to-end product experiences.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools and methodologies to expedite coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews while upholding high standards of quality and security.

• Promote observability, reliability, automation, and operational excellence across services, encompassing monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement.

• Engage in architecture discussions, technical design evaluations, and initiatives focused on engineering best practices.

• Assist in supporting production systems through on-call duties, incident management, and ongoing service improvements.

• Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, technical advice, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience in developing enterprise-grade applications.

• Profound expertise in Java and Spring Boot development.

• Proficient in designing and constructing cloud-native backend systems utilizing RESTful APIs, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and related container orchestration technologies.

• Strong comprehension of distributed systems, scalability, performance, reliability, and secure software design principles.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.

• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and contemporary DevOps practices.

• Experience employing AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Kiro, or comparable platforms.

• Capability to critically assess, validate, and enhance AI-generated code while preserving quality, security, and maintainability standards.

• Eagerness to continually learn and implement emerging AI-assisted development techniques.

• Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and analytical abilities.

• Experience with observability, monitoring, and production support methodologies.

• Ability to work efficiently in Agile/Scrum environments.
