Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Collaborate within one of our service squads tasked with the design, development, testing, and operation of components or projects that facilitate the pricing and charging of Emnify.

• Develop APIs and real-time data processing applications utilizing streaming technologies within the Apache Kafka ecosystem, emphasizing scalability and reliability.

• Engage with a team on essential telecommunication functions, such as automated product lifecycle management, in a contemporary cloud-based setting.

• Architect and design the aforementioned components to operate on AWS in a scalable manner.

• As part of a team, you will be accountable for deploying and managing these applications using CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Terraform, alongside monitoring solutions such as Grafana and Prometheus.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with the complete engineering lifecycle from proof of concept to production, using JVM-based languages, preferably Scala, as a significant portion of our codebase is in Scala.

• Proven experience in working with stream/data processing platforms such as Kafka Streams, Spark (Glue), and/or Flink.

• You have designed one or more complex APIs and made significant contributions to complex projects that are operational in production.

• Established expertise in implementing and deploying solutions in cloud environments, preferably AWS, ideally utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code.
