Senior Backend Engineer – API

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage a public API.

• Work independently while closely collaborating with fellow engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure strong alignment.

• Investigate potential engineering enhancements for both the team and the product.

• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with the product team, other Hopper teams, and external partner teams.

• Our team operates with minimal meetings, prioritizing robust alignment and asynchronous decision-making.

• A natural inclination to confidently explore an unfamiliar codebase while staying focused on achieving rapid results.

• Strong product mindset: their understanding of quality is rooted in customer satisfaction.

• Proven experience in building, maintaining, documenting, and managing a public API.

• Experience with, or a readiness to learn about, distributed system development using Scala.
