Senior Backend Engineer – API

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and manage a public API.

• Function independently while collaborating closely with fellow engineers, as well as designers and product managers, to ensure strong alignment.

• Investigate engineering enhancements for both the team and the product.

• Work collaboratively across different functions with the product team, other Hopper teams, and external partner teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must be registered as a Monotributista (or Responsable Inscripto) with AFIP and should be capable of issuing valid legal invoices (Factura B or C) for services provided.

• The contractor is responsible for their own health insurance (Obra Social), pension contributions, and professional equipment.

• A strong motivation to confidently explore an unfamiliar code base while focusing on delivering results quickly.

• Robust product thinking: the understanding of quality should be rooted in customer satisfaction.

• Proven experience in building, maintaining, documenting, and operating a public API.

• Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn, distributed system development using Scala.
