Senior Backend Developer – Java, Integración Simetrik

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain integrations with Simetrik, ensuring reliable flows for data ingestion, reconciliation, and transaction monitoring.

• Create, develop, and maintain backend microservices and components using Java + Spring Boot + WebFlux.

• Build and integrate secure, efficient, and well-documented REST APIs (including integrations with Simetrik and other core systems).

• Ensure quality through unit testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement.

• Participate in agile teams (planning, refinement, sprints, retrospectives).

• Support deployments and operations in cloud environments (primarily AWS) alongside the platform/DevOps team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven knowledge and experience in integration with Simetrik (data source configuration, reconciliation pipelines, API/SFTP/event integration, and management of reports and alerts).

• Strong experience with Java 21+.

• Proficient in Spring Boot and reactive programming with Spring WebFlux.

• Experience in building REST APIs and microservices architecture.

• Practical knowledge of Clean Architecture (maintainable structure).

• Persistence using Hibernate and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).

• Unit testing with JUnit + Mockito.

• Dependency management and build with Gradle 8.x.

• Consuming services using WebClient (WebFlux) or other equivalent clients.

• Experience with AWS services (preferably EKS and RDS/Aurora).

• Containerization with Docker and deployments in orchestrated environments (Kubernetes/EKS).

• Experience with other financial reconciliation or data quality tools (preferred).

• Knowledge of NoSQL databases: DynamoDB or DocumentDB (preferred).

• Caching: Redis or Memcached (ElastiCache) (preferred).

• Secrets management with AWS Secrets Manager (preferred).

• Knowledge of performance testing (e.g., JMeter) (preferred).

• AWS certifications (a plus).
