Senior Backend Developer – CORE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services utilizing Node.js and TypeScript.

• Leverage the NestJS Framework (a plus) to create scalable and modular applications.

• Develop and oversee relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Create and sustain API architectures and robust database models.

• Develop AWS Lambda functions and integrate AWS services like S3, SNS, and SQS.

• Connect backend services with external systems.

• Apply design patterns and maintain adherence to best practices for clean and sustainable code.

• Collaborate with the front-end team and stakeholders to outline system architecture and APIs.

• Engage in code reviews, identify code smells, and provide mentorship to junior developers.

• Operate within an Agile Scrum framework, using the JIRA ticketing system for workflow management.

• Construct and uphold CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment processes and ensure system stability.

• Advocate for Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to produce high-quality, reliable code.

• Set an example by adhering to and promoting best practices in software development and deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in backend development, particularly focused on Node.js and TypeScript.

• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL for relational database design and management.

• Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS) and serverless architecture.

• Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI).

• Practical experience in API design, database modeling, and integration of third-party systems.

• Proficient in employing design patterns and software best practices.

• Experience in an Agile environment, utilizing tools such as JIRA.

• Strong grasp of test-driven development (TDD) and continuous testing methodologies.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to mentor and guide junior developers.
