Senior Back End Engineer, Streaming Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Crafting and deploying the streaming data platform engine and SDK.

• Developing new functionalities for our suite of web and streaming applications along with data reporting features.

• Actively participating in the platform's development by contributing to technical decisions and implementations.

• Collaborating closely with the wider team to tackle new challenges and adjust to evolving requirements as we expand and reprioritize.

• Utilizing Claude Code and other AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity.

• Engaging in paired programming with a growing team of Back-end, Data, and Front-end Engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8+ years of experience as a Back End Engineer.

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.

• Experience in building and managing applications on public cloud providers such as AWS.

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies: Kafka, Kafka Streams processor API (not high-level DSL), DataBricks, EMR, DeltaFlow.

• Proven ability to profile, debug, and optimize performance in complex distributed systems.

• Openness to collaborate closely through pair programming.

• Strong emphasis on unit testing and mocking frameworks with a TDD (Test Driven Development) approach.

• Familiarity with OOP principles and contemporary development practices.

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
