Senior Back-End Engineer – Rust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage the technical transformation of current Python-based microservices, data pipelines, and security APIs into production-ready, idiomatic Rust.

• Analyze legacy Python services to pinpoint performance issues and utilize Rust’s zero-cost abstractions to significantly enhance CPU, memory, and I/O efficiency.

• Establish and promote Rust best practices within the engineering team, emphasizing stringent error handling, robust automated testing, and thorough CI/CD linting methodologies.

• Work closely with security and cryptography protocols to guarantee that all rewritten Rust modules fully comply with Zero-Trust architecture and memory safety requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, engaging in architecture reviews and system design discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in building, deploying, and maintaining high-performance backend applications or APIs using Rust.

• Extensive knowledge of Rust best practices, including asynchronous programming (e.g., Tokio ecosystem), advanced trait design, and safe concurrency techniques.

• Strong proficiency in Python, with the capability to read, analyze, and reverse-engineer existing complex codebases effectively.

• A demonstrated history of designing scalable, resilient distributed systems and low-latency RESTful or gRPC APIs.

• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and deploying high-availability services in cloud environments (such as AWS or GCP).
