Senior Back-End Engineer, Rust

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead and implement the technical transformation of current Python-based microservices, data pipelines, and security APIs into production-quality, idiomatic Rust.

• Analyze legacy Python services to pinpoint performance issues and utilize Rust’s zero-cost abstractions to significantly enhance CPU, memory, and I/O efficiency.

• Advocate for and implement Rust best practices within the engineering team, encompassing rigorous error handling, effective automated testing, and thorough CI/CD linting strategies.

• Collaborate extensively with security and cryptography protocols to guarantee that all restructured Rust modules strictly comply with Zero-Trust architecture and memory-safety requirements.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, engaging in architecture evaluations and system design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in developing, deploying, and managing high-performance backend applications or APIs using Rust.

• Strong knowledge of Rust best practices, including asynchronous programming (e.g., Tokio ecosystem), advanced trait design, and safe concurrency.

• Proficient in Python, capable of reading, profiling, and reverse-engineering complex existing codebases effortlessly.

• A demonstrated history of designing scalable, resilient distributed systems and low-latency RESTful or gRPC APIs.

• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and deploying high-availability services in cloud platforms (such as AWS or GCP).
