Senior Back-End Engineer, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Analyze both business and technical requirements, proactively suggest enhancements, and spearhead project development initiatives;

• Assume responsibility for technical architecture and solution design, emphasizing scalability, maintainability, and performance;

• Exhibit a strong architectural vision and engineering leadership when crafting backend services and system integrations;

• Produce high-quality, maintainable code while ensuring adequate test coverage through unit and integration tests;

• Conduct comprehensive code reviews, share best practices, and contribute to overall engineering excellence;

• Proactively identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization;

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in backend software development;

• In-depth expertise in Java and a thorough understanding of the Java EE ecosystem;

• Demonstrated experience in designing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance backend architectures;

• Strong knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns, and best practices in software engineering;

• Practical experience with:

• Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Security);

• Hibernate / JPA;

• RESTful APIs and microservices architecture;

• Debugging, profiling, and performance optimization;

• Source control systems (Git);

• CI/CD tools like Jenkins;

• Build tools such as Maven or Gradle;

• Application servers (Tomcat, WebSphere);

• Ability to proactively identify technical enhancements and take ownership of solutions;

• Experience in conducting code reviews and mentoring fellow engineers;

• Excellent communication skills and capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams;
