Senior Back End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain essential backend services in areas such as Identity & Auth, Order Management, Pricing, Inventory, Catalog, and Notifications.

• Engage in code reviews and maintain engineering standards, including branching strategy, CI/CD pipelines, and test coverage (xUnit, BDD/Reqnroll).

• Collaborate with the Tech Lead and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on API contracts and integration points.

• Navigate the complexities of brownfield environments by working with legacy systems, supporting migration planning, and ensuring backward compatibility.

• Take part in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and technical design discussions.

• Contribute to enhancements in observability and reliability across Development, QA, Integration, Staging, and Production environments (hosted on AWS).

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in professional backend development.

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for effective client interactions.

• In-depth knowledge of C# / .NET (including ASP.NET Core Web API and .NET 8) and clean architecture principles (such as DDD and CQRS).

• Practical experience in designing and building RESTful microservices at scale.

• Comprehensive understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture patterns.

• Familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, SQS/EventBridge, S3, RDS/PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB.

• Knowledge of Identity & Auth patterns such as JWT, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and experience with Keycloak or similar identity providers.

• Experience working in brownfield settings, evaluating and integrating with existing systems.

• Proficient in containerization (Docker) and managing CI/CD pipelines (using Bitbucket Pipelines or equivalent).
