Senior Azure/Fabric Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the existing Azure and Microsoft Fabric data landscape

• Establish the desired data architecture and a plan for implementation

• Create medallion and metadata-driven ETL/ELT frameworks

• Analyze Fabric's capacity, performance, and associated costs

• Incorporate data from ERP, manufacturing, and quality management systems

• Develop Power BI semantic models along with data governance standards

• Engage with business and technical stakeholders throughout the discovery phase

• Assist in hands-on implementation post client approval

• Convert business and technical specifications into actionable architectural recommendations

• Evaluate significant trade-offs and outline an implementation timeline

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or data platforms

• Significant hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake Gen2

• Practical commercial experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse or Warehouse components

• Proficient in SQL/T-SQL

• Familiarity with Python or PySpark

• Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX, Tabular modelling, semantic models, and dimensional modelling

• Background in designing ETL/ELT pipelines, medallion architectures, and data integration solutions

• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines

• Exposure to architecture through discovery, solution design, technical estimation, or technology selection processes

• Proficient in English with strong client-facing communication skills

• Experience in Fabric capacity monitoring, SKU sizing, or cost optimization

• Familiarity with metadata-driven ETL frameworks

• Experience in multi-ERP integration, especially with Business Central or SAP

• Experience with Purview, Databricks, Synapse, and within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or GxP environments
