Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily management and upkeep of various Linux infrastructure versions.

• Engage in ad hoc projects focused on researching and integrating new technologies, with an emphasis on transitioning towards a virtual cloud environment.

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure Cloud computing architecture.

• Deploy and optimize server and networking infrastructure.

• Carry out operations related to disaster recovery, patching, backups, and business continuity.

• Establish and assist with configuration management tools.

• Monitor servers and services.

• Collaborate with other teams to identify their technological requirements and propose effective solutions.

• Document processes for the IT Operations Team to manage the systems you develop.

• Work within a team setting to create best practices and enhance existing infrastructure designs and new implementations.

• Generate documentation on configuration standards, troubleshooting procedures, and infrastructure designs.

• Research and execute automation processes that add value to the infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, demonstrating the ability to play a vital role in managing and completing complex projects successfully.

• Fundamental understanding of infrastructure technologies, including virtualized environments, storage systems, and cloud architecture.

• Proficient experience and knowledge in Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Azure NetApp File, and other Azure native services such as AKV and Cloud Functions, OCI, and Linux RHEL.

• Programming background, preferably in bash scripting.

• Experience with the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, Azure DevOps (ADO), and GitHub.

• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet.

• Experience in VMware administration.

• Ability to develop custom solutions to address complex IT issues that cannot be resolved through standard commercial products.

• Stay informed about the latest technologies and market trends, evaluating their relevance to the organization.

• Understanding of modern cloud-native architectures.

• Experience managing hybrid environments with multiple dependencies.

• Strong expertise in Linux and computer networking is advantageous.
