This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Act as the lead Azure subject matter expert, establishing cloud architecture standards, automation, security, and governance.
• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level Azure infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, identity, and PaaS services.
• Create and maintain Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Develop and oversee Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement Azure governance frameworks, such as Azure Policy, RBAC, management groups, and tagging strategies.
• Apply cloud security best practices and zero-trust principles.
• Oversee cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
• Monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot performance issues, and address connectivity challenges.
• Lead workload assessments, migration planning, and the modernization of on-premises applications to Azure.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while promoting continuous improvement.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational playbooks.
• Assess emerging Azure technologies and recommend relevant services, tools, and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HITRUST, and other applicable standards.
• Safeguard and disclose patients’ PHI in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Adhere to Information Security and HIPAA policies, limiting PHI access to the minimum necessary.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in a hands-on Azure cloud engineering position.
• Extensive knowledge of Azure Compute, AKS, App Services, networking, storage, and Entra ID.
• Strong expertise in Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Practical experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and/or Python.
• Familiarity with Azure governance, Azure Policy, RBAC, and security baseline implementation.
• In-depth understanding of Azure Virtual Networks, NSGs, DNS, VPN, ExpressRoute, and subnet management.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Sentinel.
• Microsoft Azure certification is required.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, creative-thinking, judgment, integrity, dependability, and results-oriented skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Willingness to work outside standard business hours and/or be on-call as necessary.
• Occasional travel to different company locations is required.
• Must have a smartphone or electronic device capable of downloading applications for multifactor authentication and security purposes.
• Ability to follow instructions, collaborate effectively, manage stress, and meet the physical demands of the role.
• Occasional travel to other company locations.
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours and/or on-call as needed.
