This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Create and uphold scalable, efficient, and well-structured schemas in MSSQL, Redshift, and Snowflake.
• Design and enhance intricate queries, stored procedures, indexing techniques, and partitioning for extensive datasets.
• Develop, oversee, and sustain data pipelines that guarantee timely and precise delivery of data to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage and enforce data refresh service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring accessibility, consistency, and dependability across production and reporting environments.
• Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure that data models and queries meet product and reporting specifications.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, sluggish queries, and data inconsistencies.
• Implement and oversee database change workflows utilizing schema migration/versioning tools.
• Establish and advocate best practices for data access, security, compliance, and observability.
• Over 7 years of experience in database engineering or backend systems development.
• Profound expertise in MySQL, Amazon Redshift, and Snowflake, including schema design and performance enhancement.
• Design, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes tailored to client requirements.
• Documented success in maintaining data freshness SLAs and ensuring data quality across production pipelines.
• Practical experience with T-SQL, LinkSQL, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Background in query optimization, mapping tables to blocks and partitions, and structuring sub-tables with efficient keying/indexing.
• Experience in relational data modeling and schema versioning to support software development.
• Served as the sole or lead database expert on a development team.
• Familiarity with source control systems (e.g., Git/Bitbucket) and CI/CD integration.
• Strong problem-solving abilities are highly valued.
• Ability to translate product requirements into practical solutions in collaboration with various development and testing teams.
• Proficient in writing robust functions, procedures, and scripts using SQL.
• Actively involved in the daily operations of the business, addressing support and performance issues.
• Diagnose and resolve data-related issues swiftly and effectively.
• Analyze data workflows to pinpoint areas for enhancement, recommending and implementing solutions to boost performance.
