Senior AWS Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, construct, and sustain scalable ETL and data pipelines utilizing Python, PySpark, and AWS services.

• Develop and oversee workflows with Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.

• Construct event-driven integrations leveraging SNS, SQS, and other related AWS services.

• Design and enhance data lake and warehouse solutions using S3, Athena, and Redshift.

• Write and optimize high-performance SQL for intricate transformations and reporting tasks.

• Design and execute frameworks for data validation, monitoring, logging, alerting, and error handling.

• Create and support API-based and JSON-based integrations across both internal and external systems.

• Diagnose operational issues, pinpoint root causes, and carry out corrective measures.

• Contribute to documentation efforts, deployment automation, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and provide mentorship to junior team members as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Holder of a degree for visa application purposes.

• 8–12 years of experience in software development.

• Strong background in IT and relevant experience.

• Experience as an application developer on projects with similar scope and responsibilities.

• Proficient in Python, PySpark, and SQL.

• Practical experience with AWS Glue, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, S3, Athena, EMR, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.

• Familiarity with enterprise data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and big data environments.

• In-depth understanding of ETL best practices, data quality, and operational support.

• Experience working with APIs, JSON, and cloud-based data integration patterns.

• Knowledge of GitLab, Terraform, CI/CD, and AWS developer tools.

• Experience with DynamoDB, EC2, ECS, and Batch.

• Exposure to data migration and cloud modernization initiatives.

• Understanding of performance engineering for code pipelines and near-real-time systems.

• Familiarity with Agents and MCP.

• Advanced proficiency in oral English.

• Advanced proficiency in Spanish.

• Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants (preferred).
