This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement cloud technologies in accordance with Stride Governance policies.
• Document and manage cloud infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Offer expert advice and recommendations for developing new solutions on the AWS platform.
• Set up, configure, and maintain AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others for shared systems.
• Work closely with the architecture team to ensure compliance of newly implemented solutions in AWS.
• Provide support and guidance to development teams for daily cloud systems maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Design, develop, and uphold efficient processes and architectural enhancements for managing shared systems and concerns through scripting, automation, and reporting.
• Assist in troubleshooting shared concerns and systems using data extraction and analysis via AWS scripting and tools.
• Implement security best practices to safeguard cloud environments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system architecture diagrams and process documentation.
• Investigate, analyze, and assist in optimizing cloud resources (IOPS, CPU/EC2s, Memory, Storage/S3) for cost efficiency, performance, and reliability.
• Build and test prototypes of new AWS services and features to assess their technical suitability for enhancing existing systems and preparing for new solutions.
• Engage in cloud architecture planning sessions and contribute to the formulation of cloud strategies.
• At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting AWS Cloud-based infrastructure and Linux systems.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent certification.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud technologies.
• Extensive understanding of AWS cloud architecture principles, design, security, and compliance.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities, including experience with AWS services and networking.
• Background and experience in both Linux and Windows systems.
• Strong scripting capabilities with AWS CLI/SDKs on either Linux or Windows platforms.
• Proficient experience and understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Strong grasp of source code control concepts, tools, and automated deployments.
• Practical knowledge of network fundamentals (e.g., DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, HTTP).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with performance testing and tuning.
• Experience with monitoring frameworks (e.g., CloudWatch, New Relic).
• Experience in designing and constructing application workloads in AWS using common AWS resource types like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3.
• Experience with cloud optimization from both performance and cost perspectives.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture principles and services.
• Understanding of disaster recovery solutions in the AWS cloud (e.g., site reliability engineering, multi-Availability Zone, Multi-Region).
