This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Generate leads and conduct market intelligence: discover new opportunities using tools like DevelopmentAid and foster these through discussions with donors, partners, and clients.
• Assess leads based on needs, budgets, and VIDA's strategic goals.
• Monitor programs, funding sources, donor priorities, and competitor activities to identify market gaps.
• Identify and engage potential partners, including engineering firms, consultancies, and other organizations focused on climate, energy, and resilience.
• Create outreach materials and nurture relationships with current and potential partners.
• Assist with partnership agreements and collaborative proposals.
• Draft and coordinate technical and financial proposals for the World Bank, African Development Bank, and other major donors and clients.
• Collaborate with Data Solutions and Product teams to collect technical insights.
• Develop proposals and partnerships to strategically position VIDA for new opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records in HubSpot to ensure opportunities are accessible to the broader Business Development team.
• Report on the outcomes of proposals and tenders, and capture insights for future bids.
• Create and update Business Development materials, such as presentations, one-pagers, and case studies, that showcase the current portfolio and project achievements.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience with direct involvement in business development, partnerships, or consulting.
• Proven track record of contributing to or securing new opportunities through tenders, direct procurement, or partnerships.
• Familiarity with international development funding and procurement procedures.
• Strong understanding of climate-related issues and the ability to discuss them confidently with clients and partners.
• Experience in engaging with donors, clients, consultants, and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to effectively position VIDA in critical discussions.
• Comfortable working across various geographies and cultural contexts.
• A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory if accompanied by adequate relevant experience.
• Residing in East Africa, Germany, or within a ±2 hour time zone from Germany.
