This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Join a dedicated team focused on delivering services and ensuring compliance with all commitments made to the client.
• Prepare and negotiate a diverse array of contracts, including content and development agreements, software development contracts, professional and consulting services contracts, staffing agreements, licensing contracts, other IP/IT contracts, and general commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with junior team members, providing training and guidance to help them develop into proficient negotiators.
• Support the Delivery lead by managing more intricate negotiations and overseeing the quality control of junior team members, some of whom may be new to negotiations.
• Follow established delivery processes and honor commitments.
• Identify new opportunities to enhance client negotiation processes and procedures while strengthening our long-term relationships.
• Input and manage data within Factor and client systems, ensuring they are kept current.
• Assist in developing contract templates, playbooks, and other resources for the team's use.
• Stay informed about legal and other pertinent developments.
• Contribute to a team that is dedicated to continuously enhancing our service to clients and delivering added value.
• Possession of a Law Degree and/or being Legally Qualified.
• Legally authorized to work in the country where this role is located.
• A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in independently drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, either within a law firm, as part of an in-house legal team, or at Factor.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to operate with significant independence, requiring minimal or no supervision.
• Strong commercial awareness, collaborating directly with business managers.
• Legal expertise to function as a senior advisor to clients and act as an escalation point for junior team members on issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Word.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members.
• Background in client relationship management.
• Familiarity with a recognized matter management system as part of daily operations.
