This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Collaborate independently and as part of the assessment design team to create, review, edit, and/or revise tests and items that align with state standards and are appropriate for the grade level, ensuring compliance with both internal and external deadlines.
• Implement blueprints to produce comprehensive assessments that cater to customer requirements.
• Extensive experience in professional assessment writing and/or editing, particularly in authoring tech-enhanced items directly within an assessment management system.
• Strong comprehension of the elements that constitute well-designed and balanced assessment items and forms.
• Capability to create assessment items for K-12 students, possessing a solid understanding of Depth of Knowledge, rigor, differentiation, text complexity, and readability.
• Profound knowledge of academic standards and expertise in crafting strongly-aligned assessments.
• Ability to offer constructive feedback on assessment items or design.
• Subject-matter expertise in ELA, mathematics, science, or social studies.
• Background in education; previous teaching experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience collaborating with educational publishers is a plus.
