This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of level designers, promoting collaboration and professional growth.
• Propel the creative vision and implementation of levels, ensuring alignment with gameplay, narrative, and artistic objectives.
• Collaborate closely with environment artists, narrative designers, and systems designers to create unified experiences.
• Assess and provide constructive feedback on level layouts, encounter balance, and consistency in worldbuilding.
• Guarantee that all levels comply with performance, quality, and accessibility standards.
• Actively participate in level blockouts, encounter scripting, and gameplay prototyping.
• Establish and enhance level design workflows, pipelines, and best practices for scalability and efficiency.
• Work in conjunction with production to define, schedule, and monitor level design deliverables.
• Champion player experience, ensuring levels are engaging, rewarding, and aligned with the game's vision.
• Over 5 years of professional level design experience within the gaming industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a lead or senior design position.
• Proven history of successfully shipping at least one title in a senior or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of encounter design, pacing, and player progression.
• Proficient in using level design tools within engines such as Unity or Unreal.
• Collaborative approach with experience leading cross-disciplinary teams (art, design, and engineering).
• Effective communication and documentation skills in a remote-first environment.
