This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide Data Architecture support for projects and enhancements, which includes the development and implementation of data management, architecture, integration, and governance strategies.
• Offer technical leadership in architecture, design, documentation, and maintenance of databases and related systems, which entails creating database storage structures, resolving database issues, and safeguarding system security.
• Assist in the development and execution of business applications that enhance statistical efficiency and data quality.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns within complex data sets.
• Oversee daily operations of data loads, pinpoint data discrepancies and quality issues, and ensure data consistency and integrity.
• Engage in project and enhancement estimation activities and project team meetings, providing insights, task status updates, risk identification, mitigation strategies, and issue management.
• Collaborate with business partners to convert business requirements into environment-specific ETL, reporting, and data validation designs, while prioritizing business and informational needs.
• Design relational databases and physical data models to support enterprise applications, data acquisition, and security requirements.
• Review database modifications to ensure they do not impact performance or functionality, thereby maintaining production stability.
• Bachelor’s degree in data architecture, information management, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of combined experience in DBA/data development and data architecture.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL, Talend ETL, and Snowflake.
• Strong knowledge in ETL development including SSIS, ADF (Azure Data Factory), Boomi or similar tools, as well as data warehouse architecture techniques.
• Skilled in using data modeling tools and in producing and maintaining both logical and physical designs.
• Proven ability to optimize, load, and process large datasets from diverse data sources and formats while ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• PostgreSQL/Snowpro certifications (for Snowflake) are preferred.
• Experience working closely with both business professionals and technical resources, serving as a liaison between the two groups and coordinating with vendors.
• Knowledge of fundamental Data Governance and security concepts and processes.
• Experience in the Fleet Management industry is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the capability to gather business requirements, develop and document data models, and present findings effectively.
