This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, train, assess, and deploy 3D reconstruction systems throughout our pipeline — including gaussian splats, foundational 3D models, SfM, MVS, monocular depth, and mesh reconstruction.
• Lead the integration of contemporary reality capture techniques (splatting, foundational models) into our production stack — making decisions on what is ready for release and what requires further development.
• Take ownership of the most challenging technical inquiries in your domain, from initial assessment through production deployment and ongoing support.
• Enhance 3D systems for speed, precision, and efficiency at a production scale.
• Employ the most suitable tool for each challenge — utilizing classical 3D computer vision when effective, and learned methodologies when advantageous.
• Remain updated with advancements in 3D vision research and assess promising techniques against our workflows.
• Maintain a high technical standard for your own contributions — delivering high-quality designs, thoroughly tested code, and production-ready shipping practices.
• Contribute to the team through code reviews, collaborative programming, and design feedback.
• Document debugging and investigation strategies into reusable resources.
• Utilize AI tools on a daily basis throughout the SDLC, exercising discretion on their effectiveness.
• Create agent skills or tools that are utilized by other engineers; contribute to the collective skills library of the team.
• Perform thorough evaluations of new AI tools and share beneficial patterns with the team.
• Review code generated by agents with the same thoroughness as code written by humans.
• Monitor the AI tooling landscape and share useful patterns with the team.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 5+ years of professional experience in 3D Computer Vision or 3D Machine Learning, or a PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
• Practical experience with modern reality capture — particularly gaussian splatting and/or foundational 3D reconstruction models (MASt3R, VGGT, or similar). At least one of these should be from direct hands-on experience (production, startup, or other industry context), rather than theoretical knowledge.
• Proven history of developing and deploying 3D reconstruction systems — in production, at a startup, or in another applied industry context (not limited to research or prototype work).
• Extensive experience with the broader 3D perception toolkit — familiarity with at least three of the following: feature detection and matching, SfM, MVS, monocular depth estimation, mesh reconstruction, SLAM. Published research or open-source contributions in any of these areas is advantageous.
• Comfortable navigating the classical versus learned spectrum — you choose the appropriate tool rather than the trendiest one.
• A genuine record of engaging in agentic development.
• Strong proficiency in C++ — as much of our photogrammetry pipeline operates in C++, you will be working in it daily.
• Excellent ability to timebox experiments, iterate effectively, and identify successful pathways when challenges arise.
• Proficient in modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar) and contemporary training stacks.
• Capability to work efficiently as a remote engineer, with overlap in AM standups and PST time zones.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; you can translate technically complex investigations to PMs, leadership, and fellow engineers.
• Open-source agent skills, plugins, or prompts that are utilized by others.
• Experience in running and monitoring multiple concurrent ML experiments in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with cloud training and inference (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Background in geospatial systems or aerial imagery pipelines.
• Culture of Innovation & Collaboration – Thrive in an environment that values creativity and teamwork.
• Drone Certification – Get certified and gain unique, hands-on skills with our full backing.
• Flexible Work Arrangements – Enjoy autonomy with remote-first options and schedule flexibility.
• Paid Family Leave – Take the time you need to support your family during life’s most important moments.
• Comprehensive Healthcare Coverage – Plans designed to support your well-being.
• Career & Growth Development – Build new skills and unlock opportunities through continuous learning.
• Flexible PTO – Take time off when you need it to recharge—we trust you to manage your time well.
• Employee Referral Bonus – Know someone great? Refer them and earn a bonus when they join our team.
