This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design, develop, and implement machine learning and deep learning models for scientific applications, such as materials discovery, chemical modeling, and process optimization.
• Convert intricate scientific and business challenges into manageable AI/ML frameworks.
• Handle real-world structured and unstructured scientific data, including experimental, simulation, and literature data.
• Create and sustain data pipelines, feature engineering workflows, and model evaluation frameworks.
• Collaborate across functions with scientists, engineers, and product managers to provide production-ready solutions.
• Work closely with Customer Success and client-facing teams to comprehend customer needs, translate requirements into AI/ML solutions, and ensure the successful deployment, adoption, and continuous optimization of models within customer environments.
• Utilize techniques such as supervised and unsupervised learning, generative models, and optimization algorithms.
• Contribute to the integration of models into scalable software platforms and APIs.
• Keep abreast of advancements in AI/ML and pertinent scientific fields; evaluate and incorporate new methods when appropriate.
• Conduct strategic research aimed at enhancing NobleAI’s core technology.
• Clearly communicate findings and model outputs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Travel periodically to customer sites and participate in industry events.
• Ph.D. in Geoscience, Geophysics, Production Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or another quantitative discipline related to Energy.
• Educational background or coursework in Machine Learning.
• Practical experience applying machine learning to real-world scientific and engineering challenges.
• Strong foundation in machine learning, including both classical and deep learning techniques (such as CNNs, transformers, or embedding techniques), with an emphasis on supervised learning.
• Extensive experience in Python and related ML frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Tensorflow, Keras, sklearn).
• Proven ability to effectively convey complex technical information at a high level.
• Solid grasp of statistical modeling, optimization, and algorithm design.
• Demonstrated capability in deploying models into production environments.
• Experience in Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, uncertainty quantification, or unsupervised learning approaches.
• Familiarity with cloud or distributed training frameworks (such as Azure, AWS, GCP) and MLOps practices.
• Background in scientific fields such as chemistry, materials science, or energy.
• Knowledge of physics-informed ML, geological/reservoir modeling, and/or production forecasting and flow assurance optimization.
• Experience with generative AI methods (e.g., diffusion models, transformers) applied to scientific challenges.
