This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Explore the latest advancements in LLM and MLM models, assessing and comparing their accuracy and efficiency for our specific use cases.
• Create tools and processes for developing data pipelines that facilitate ML training and customization.
• Fine-tune LLMs tailored for the healthcare sector.
• Assist in the development and implementation of machine learning (ML) solutions that utilize our customized models in areas such as Document Understanding, Search and QnA, GenAI, Virtual Agents, and more.
• Engage throughout the entire lifecycle of ML model development, covering problem definition, data exploration, feature engineering, model training, validation, and deployment.
• Take part in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities.
• Diagnose and resolve technical challenges associated with AI models, as well as integration, deployment, and backend services.
• Document and convey research and development processes along with architectural decisions.
• Maintain the security and compliance of healthcare data in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative discipline.
• A PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or Computer Science is preferred.
• At least 4 years of industry experience with a strong emphasis on applied AI/ML research and development.
• A solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, efficient algorithms, and high-quality software development practices.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Machine Learning principles, including Deep Neural Networks, Transformer-based LLMs and MLMs, Boosted or standard decision trees, RAG, etc.
• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML libraries such as PyTorch.
• Experience in training autoregressive language models (pre-training, fine-tuning, RLHF, post-training) such as LLaMA, GPT-x, Mistral, etc.
• Familiarity with open-source LLM platforms and training stacks (e.g., HuggingFace, Deepspeed, etc.).
• Experience with ML platforms like AWS Sagemaker, Azure ML, Databricks, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong logical thinking capacity.
• A passion for customer satisfaction, innovation, and product quality.
• Capability to collaborate across various disciplines in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
• Proficient written communication skills that facilitate collaboration in a remote setting.
• Background in healthcare or life sciences is an advantage.
