Senior Applied AI/ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Contribute to a diverse array of AI-related projects, including LLM applications, computer vision, comprehensive chatbot development, and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps).

• Assist in research and product innovation involving AI elements, such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic AI.

• Engage in discussions to identify and assess use cases both internally and externally, designing customized solutions that meet business needs.

• Collaborate closely with the AI Strategy team to ensure the successful execution of AI-driven initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in AI and Machine Learning.

• Results-oriented approach with a proven track record of utilizing various AI/ML models effectively.

• Capability to implement business-focused generative AI solutions using frameworks such as LangChain, Haystack, or LlamaIndex alongside standard software development practices.

• Interest in or knowledge of classical Machine Learning/Deep Learning techniques (advantageous but not mandatory).

• Experience in evaluating LLM/AI agents, implementing guardrails, or applying trustworthy AI practices.

• Strong software engineering and deployment expertise.

• Ability to independently create and deploy AI-driven applications, including backend development.

• Proficiency in Python; familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, R, or Java is a plus.

• Skilled in containerization and deployment strategies (Docker).

• Experience in building and consuming REST APIs.

• Understanding of cloud deployment and cloud-native services.

• Knowledge of data transformation, cleaning, preparation, and model selection.

• Ability to analyze large datasets.

• Skills in data structuring and storage modeling.

• Proficiency in German at C1 level and fluency in English are required.

• Effective communicator, capable of articulating technical concepts clearly.

• Confident in representing the company professionally during client interactions.

• Team-oriented mindset, receptive to collaboration and constructive feedback.

• Bonus qualifications:

• Familiarity with advanced Machine Learning methodologies and libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.

• Background in statistics and model evaluation techniques.

• Knowledge of computer vision technologies.

• Experience with MLOps frameworks (e.g., MLflow).

• Experience in integrating LLMs with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j).

• Experience with AI-augmented coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Gemini CLI).

• Basic understanding of frontend technologies (React or Angular is advantageous).
