Senior Application Support Developer – Mainframe

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide expert advice to clients on the creation, enhancement, and functioning of software solutions.

• Assist clients and development teams in resolving technical issues while maintaining and evolving crucial business applications.

• Offer insights on technical design and architecture in partnership with development teams.

• Collaborate with project managers and business units.

• Guide and mentor development teams.

• Support the upkeep and further development of mainframe applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in COBOL development.

• Preferably experienced with PL/I, Assembler, or SQL.

• Proven track record of collaboration with business units and development teams.

• Successfully attained a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical and Information Engineering, or a related field.

• Excellent proficiency in German (minimum C1 level).

• Good command of English.

• Proficient in z/OS, TSO/ISPF, JCL, IBM DB2, IBM MQSeries, CICS, as well as host and peripheral systems.

• Ideally, experience with insurance processes.

• Familiarity with controlling, monitoring, and scheduling batch processes.
