Senior Application Backend Engineer, Core Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain tools for creating and testing Java services and system packages on the JVM.

• Enhance and optimize the Java developer experience, incorporating utilities for debugging, profiling, and code optimization.

• Collaborate with colleagues and engineers throughout the organization to architect elegant systems.

• Establish and uphold standards and libraries to ensure effective communication between services.

• Convey a technical vision and bring it to fruition.

• Gain insights from and work closely with seasoned engineers, sharing knowledge and skills as you advance in your role.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in Java, Scala, and/or Kotlin.

• Prior hands-on experience in developing and maintaining tools and libraries.

• Ability to collaborate and coordinate with various teams and stakeholders to implement high-impact projects.

• Proven capability to design, build, and deploy future-proof productivity tools within a medium to large organization.

• Solid understanding of Linux, databases, Service-oriented Architecture, and Maven/Gradle.

• Proficiency in rapid iteration using Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment methods.

• Enthusiasm for addressing challenges related to scalability, reliability, and performance.
