This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +8 more states.
• Collaborate with diverse teams, including server and network teams, business users, subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, stakeholders, and members of the PI support team.
• Upgrade PI server hardware and manage interface migration, along with data migration and validation of backups.
• Provide support for the PI system during the burn-in phase, manage issues, and hand over responsibilities post cutover and burn-in period.
• Assist in hardware and system evaluations to ensure operational readiness.
• Execute the upgrade and cutover of PI Collective from the current system.
• Upgrade PI layered products in conjunction with the PI server, including AF system and ACE System integration testing.
• Assess user requirements and software needs to evaluate the feasibility of designs within budget and time constraints.
• Adjust existing software to fix errors, accommodate new hardware, or enhance performance.
• Engage with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and gather information about project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Provide training to users on AVEVA PI software.
• Consult with clients or other departments regarding project updates, proposals, or technical challenges, such as software design or maintenance.
• Create reports or correspondence related to project specifications, activities, or status updates.
• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analyzing system capabilities and requirements.
• Advise clients or conduct maintenance on software systems.
• Stay updated on new technologies and advancements relevant to the area of responsibility.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in administering a PI system and Asset Framework components, including analysis, event frames, and notifications, ideally with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, specifically in Midstream and Upstream Operations.
• Proven experience in customer consulting, encompassing requirements gathering and solution delivery.
• Practical experience with AVEVA PI Server and PI Collectives in production settings.
• Strong skills in PI Vision for data visualization and dashboard creation.
• Experience with AVEVA Connect for data management and integration.
• Working knowledge of PI ProcessBook and PI DataLink for reporting and analysis purposes.
• Expertise in PI archive migration and system upgrades.
• Solid skills in PI system administration, covering security, configuration, and maintenance.
• Experience in configuring and managing PI-to-PI data replication.
• Familiarity with PI OPC Interfaces (UA and DA) for real-time data connection.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including Modbus.
• VBA scripting experience for automation and data handling.
• Understanding of PI Buffering concepts to ensure data reliability and performance.
• Ability to enhance PI system performance and resolve data flow issues.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for system administration and automation tasks.
