• Oversee the development of exceptional animations for graphic creatures and objects within a shot.
• Understand and implement guidance from the Lead Animator or Animation Supervisor.
• May oversee the work of entry-level, mid-level, and mid-high level animators.
• Engage in finding various aesthetic solutions; offer feedback to other production team members.
• Expected to train and mentor new Animators.
• Provide technical support to show supervisors.
• Maintain or exceed productivity levels while adhering to deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
• Occasionally required to undertake hands-on shot work for the show and provide reference performances.
• Minimum of five years of relevant professional VFX experience.
• At least a college degree or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, photography, or a related field; OR at least seven years of relevant professional VFX experience as a substitute for formal education.
• Expert understanding of traditional animation, acting, film production, and compositional design.
• Outstanding animation skills demonstrated through portfolio, demo reel, and references.
• Completion of at least two years as a Mid-Level Animator with recommendations for promotion.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Linux is preferred.
• Expert knowledge of Maya, proprietary, and other software applications.
• Familiarity with chaining and constraint techniques.
