Senior Analytics Engineer

Posted May 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and maintain curated datasets in dbt Cloud that facilitate GTM and corporate reporting throughout the entire revenue lifecycle.

• Take ownership of metric definitions and guarantee consistent logic across recurring reporting, minimizing duplicated, ambiguous, or conflicting calculations.

• Investigate data discrepancies comprehensively: trace issues through transformation layers, validate outputs against source systems (e.g., Salesforce), and address root causes.

• Document essential datasets and metric definitions in dbt YAML to ensure both human users and AI-driven query tools inherit accurate and consistent context.

• Convert complex business logic into clean, thoroughly tested data models.

• Provide support for a limited range of downstream reporting and ad-hoc analytical requests, particularly those that refine or pressure-test the underlying data model.

• Gradually develop into a more direct partnership with business stakeholders to enhance reporting clarity, usability, and trust.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or a similar role within a SaaS or technology environment.

• Proficient SQL skills with hands-on experience in dbt (building models, writing tests, and managing documentation).

• Experience with subscription or revenue data — familiar with concepts such as ARR, churn, retention, and waterfall reporting.

• Strong judgment in structuring and organizing data for downstream reporting and analysis.

• A natural investigator: when discrepancies arise, you delve deep to identify the root cause instead of merely addressing the symptom.

• Familiarity with BigQuery and BI platforms like Looker or Omni.

• Knowledge of ETL and reverse ETL tools for transferring data between enterprise systems (e.g., Fivetran, Hightouch).

• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and working with teammates to clarify requirements and definitions.

• Excellent written communication skills, able to clearly explain data logic, tradeoffs, and metric definitions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Interest in how AI tools are transforming organizational interactions with data.

🏝️ Benefits

• Remote First work environment.

• Unlimited vacation in most of our locations!

• Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and savings plan.

• Additional perks such as training reimbursement, WFH reimbursement, and more.

• Diverse and dynamic teams working on challenging and exciting projects.

• An opportunity to make a significant impact on our business.

• A wide array of social activities (both in-person and virtual).

• Optional in-person meet-ups and the opportunity to travel to our international offices.
