This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams to determine data requirements, establish metrics, and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
• Design, construct, and maintain scalable data pipelines and models that support analytics, reporting, and product insights.
• Create and oversee core datasets for financial and behavioral usage analytics, fostering a comprehensive understanding of customer behavior, product adoption, and business performance.
• Assist in defining, instrumenting, and validating product and business metrics, including those displayed on customer-facing dashboards.
• Promote enhancements in data quality, reliability, and observability, including taking ownership of SLAs for key pipelines.
• Work together with engineering teams to adapt data models in alignment with product modifications.
• Contribute to the establishment of our analytics layer (e.g., dbt models, semantic layer, metric definitions).
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and data contracts.
• Over 5 years of experience in data-centric positions (Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field).
• Extensive experience in data modeling for analytics, particularly concerning financial metrics and user behavior/product usage data.
• Proficient SQL skills and experience in designing well-structured, scalable data models.
• Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines within modern data ecosystems.
• Practical experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery, and familiarity with dbt (considered a strong advantage).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Expertise in at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R).
• Experience using BI tools like Tableau or Looker and AI Analytics platforms such as Hex.
• Strong analytical skills with the capability to investigate data discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into data solutions.
