Senior Analyst – Statistician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement observational research studies, including matched cohort analyses and various quasi-experimental methodologies.

• Assess the effects of clinical programs and interventions on utilization, care costs, readmissions, avoidable utilization, quality outcomes, and CMS-related performance indicators.

• Create statistically robust strategies to mitigate bias and confounding factors in healthcare datasets.

• Establish cohorts, as well as inclusion and exclusion criteria, comparison groups, exposure groups, and outcome measures that align with the study objectives.

• Extract, clean, structure, and analyze extensive healthcare datasets, including claims, EHR, ACO, CMS, and MSSP data.

• Develop reproducible analytic datasets and workflows utilizing SQL, Python, and other statistical programming tools.

• Convert statistical results into actionable insights, reports, summaries, and visualizations for clinical, operational, financial, and executive audiences.

• Collaborate with clinical leaders, analytics teams, data engineering, operations, product, and leadership teams to define research questions, interpret findings, and implement results.

• Leverage AI-enabled tools where applicable to enhance analytic efficiency and assist in feature generation, covariate selection, and workflow optimization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare analytics, outcomes research, applied statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a similar analytical/research setting.

• A Bachelor's degree is required.

• An advanced degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Experience in working with claims, EHR, CMS, MSSP, ACO, or other extensive healthcare datasets.

• Strong expertise in Python and SQL.

• Proficient in applying statistical methods to evaluate programs, outcomes, utilization, care costs, readmissions, avoidable utilization, quality outcomes, or related healthcare performance metrics.

• Capable of clearly communicating complex analytical results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Preferred experience in observational research, matched cohort studies, causal inference, propensity score methods, or techniques addressing bias and confounding.

• Experience in value-based care, ACOs, population health, post-acute care, long-term care, health plans, academic research, university research, or similar research-centric environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with R, SAS, Databricks, or AI-enabled coding and analytics tools such as Claude Code or Microsoft Copilot is preferred.

• Experience in developing publication-quality tables, executive summaries, manuscripts, internal reports, or external research materials is preferred.
