Senior Analyst, Executive Underwriting Priorities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer analytical and operational assistance to Caremark Underwriting leadership.

• Conduct research, validate, and synthesize information necessary for addressing time-sensitive inquiries.

• Examine the factors influencing changes in pricing and forecasting outcomes.

• Determine the underlying causes of anomalies.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather clarifications, data sources, and supporting documentation.

• Execute diagnostic reviews to clarify changes in results across pricing and forecasting tools/models.

• Partner with stakeholders throughout the underwriting ecosystem to find solutions.

• Develop and uphold side analyses to confirm assumptions.

• Work with structured datasets and assist in the extraction/validation of inputs and outputs using relational data concepts and SQL.

• Keep organized notes, assumptions, and reference materials.

• Prepare meeting briefs, document action items, and represent leadership in lower-priority meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of relevant professional experience in analytics, finance, underwriting, actuarial, forecasting, or a related quantitative field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and structured modeling (e.g., INDEX/MATCH or XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, error checking, and reconciliation techniques).

• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL concepts for data extraction, validation, and analysis.

• Experience in PBM, healthcare, health plan, or underwriting/pricing environments is preferred.

• Proven ability to investigate ambiguous issues, ask insightful clarifying questions, and resolve problems through structured analysis and follow-up with stakeholders.
