Senior Analyst Developer, COBOL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and test COBOL solutions to fulfill business requirements.

• Establish both functional and non-functional specifications.

• Create comprehensive technical solutions, estimate project effort, and define delivery timelines.

• Write code, conduct unit and integration tests, resolve defects, and enhance code efficiency.

• Advocate for and implement best practices in software development and maintenance, provide technical support to the team, and foster innovation and ongoing improvement.

• Ensure adherence to security standards and regulations relevant to software development.

• Conduct impact assessments for proposed modifications, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of potential ramifications.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of proven experience in developing applications using COBOL.

• Experience collaborating in teams utilizing Agile methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Understanding of code quality and performance evaluation for mainframe applications.

• Preferred: experience in developing within Unisys mainframe environments (COMS, DMSII, SDF, CANDE).

• Experience with automated unit and integration testing (TDD/ATDD) in COBOL routines.

• Familiarity with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) methodologies.

• Knowledge of integration technologies (e.g., APIs, Web Services).

• Experience in mentoring and training fellow developers.

• Familiarity with visual modeling and prototyping tools.

• Proficient in SQL (Structured Query Language).
