This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Address client inquiries and requests regarding plans in a prompt and professional manner.
• Calculate and process timely payments for termination, retirement, and death benefits for medium-sized plans, while reviewing these for simpler plans.
• Cultivate strong relationships between clients and the consulting team.
• Efficiently coordinate the flow of information between clients and trustees.
• Accurately reconcile plan assets and memberships.
• Train new analysts on systems and procedures to maintain consistency.
• Diligently prepare year-end annual pension statements.
• Conscientiously prepare membership and asset data for actuarial valuations.
• Apply and interpret pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements.
• Work with pension databases to ensure data integrity.
• Participate in internal training sessions to remain informed about industry trends and topics.
• Engage in client meetings and presentations to provide added value.
• Support team objectives by assisting with special projects as necessary.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Defined Benefit pension administration, including complex calculations for retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown.
• Post-secondary education, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science, or relevant courses related to Pension Administration.
• Advanced understanding of Defined Benefit pension plans, along with provincial pension and tax legislation.
• Experience in reviewing pension calculations and member transactions.
• Ability to lead projects, taking responsibility and accountability for assigned tasks.
• Strong capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with ease.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.
