Senior AI/ML Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop backend services for AI/ML product features that create a substantial impact.

• Assume responsibility for your tasks and lead cross-functional initiatives.

• Work in collaboration with therapists, data scientists, engineers, and product managers.

• Deploy and manage a variety of applications in a production environment.

• Establish the essential backend infrastructure to support scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions.

• Write code on a daily basis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in delivering production-ready products.

• Proficiency in writing high-quality code using Python.

• Familiarity with modern async Python web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI) and managing data streaming (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events).

• Experience using Docker and deploying applications on Kubernetes.

• Background in working with relational and low-latency databases.

• Knowledge of integrating RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) into AI features.

• Experience in building generative AI chatbots.

• Familiarity with LLM observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Langfuse) to monitor latency, token usage, and output quality.

• Understanding of LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and integration with foundation model APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock).

• A strong desire to quickly learn new technologies.

• A passion for building systems from the ground up.

• A strategic approach to balancing quality and deadlines in fast-paced environments.

• Excellent communication skills with an ability to foster consensus and alignment.

• Strong organizational skills and the capability to simplify complex issues into clear priorities that drive the team and business forward.
