Senior AI Engineer - Global Commercial Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and manage production-ready agentic AI applications and services.

• Contribute to the development of shared agentic AI capabilities, which include agent frameworks and orchestration, planning, tool utilization, memory strategies, RAG pipelines, LLM integration and inference services, as well as evaluation, observability, and safety tools.

• Collaborate with senior engineers to architect scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems.

• Engage in technical design discussions and participate in code reviews.

• Work closely with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams to bring AI-powered solutions from concept to production.

• Assess emerging AI technologies and integrate practical enhancements into the platform.

• Mentor junior engineers while fostering a collaborative engineering culture.

• Operate within a modern, cloud-native engineering environment that emphasizes agentic AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in developing large-scale backend or distributed software systems.

• Proven experience in creating AI-powered applications utilizing LLMs, agentic workflows, RAG, or contemporary ML platforms.

• Proficient in building production services with TypeScript, Go, Python, or similar programming languages.

• Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering encompassing backend development, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.

• Familiar with cloud platforms, containerization, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in asynchronous processing, workflow engines, message queues, or streaming systems.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to navigate ambiguous technical challenges.

• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills with engineering and product teams.

• Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and contributing to engineering best practices.

• Preferred: experience in developing AI applications within financial services or other regulated sectors.

• Preferred: hands-on experience deploying production-level LLM or RAG-based systems.

• Preferred: knowledge of evaluation frameworks, observability, and AI safety practices.

• Preferred: contributions to open-source software or AI-related initiatives.

• Experience with fine-tuning, model optimization, or inference pipelines is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, Python, REST, gRPC, tRPC, AWS and/or GCP, SNS, SQS, Lambda, EKS, API Gateway, Kubernetes, Kafka, Temporal or DBOS, LangGraph, LangChain, Airflow, VercelAI SDK, LlamaIndex, RAG architectures, embedding models, vector databases, prompt engineering, structured output generation, model serving, Effect TS, and Zod is a plus.
