Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and manage AI agents that execute multi-step reasoning, make decisions, and carry out tasks across enterprise systems.

• Develop agent-based solutions utilizing LLMs, tool/function calling, memory, and orchestration frameworks to automate comprehensive business processes.

• Implement human-in-the-loop systems, approval mechanisms, auditing, and exception-handling protocols to guarantee safe and dependable automation.

• Define and monitor KPIs for agent performance (such as cycle-time reduction, automation rate, error rate, and cost savings) and continuously enhance efficiency.

• Design and oversee AI-driven workflows that integrate seamlessly with enterprise applications (including CRM, ERP, ticketing, content management, and collaboration platforms).

• Create and provide services and APIs that enable internal applications to leverage AI agents and automation functionalities.

• Integrate and manage third-party AI platforms and services that expedite delivery and mitigate operational risk.

• Ensure reliability, observability, and cost management across automated processes.

• Develop and implement LLM-powered functionalities including tool-using agents, prompt strategies, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) when appropriate.

• Assess model and agent performance using quantitative metrics, structured test cases, and regression testing suites.

• Apply guardrails, validation, and monitoring to ensure responsible, predictable, and secure AI operations in production.

• Operate AI agents and automation solutions in a production environment, addressing incidents, failures, and unexpected behaviors.

• Collaborate with IT Operations and Security to ensure solutions align with availability, security, privacy, and compliance standards.

• Participate in on-call or escalation rotations as necessary for critical AI-enabled systems.

• Work with business stakeholders to identify high-impact automation prospects and convert them into AI agent designs.

• Offer technical leadership, design direction, and mentorship to engineers engaged in AI and automation projects.

• Contribute to architectural standards, best practices, and documentation for agent-based AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong experience in API-driven system integration and service-oriented architectures in production settings.

• Practical experience in building and operating AI-driven automation or agent-based systems.

• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, version control, testing, and CI/CD processes.

• Proven ability to deliver automation that produces measurable business outcomes.

• Experience with Generative AI, LLM-based agents, tool/function calling, and orchestration frameworks.

• Experience in integrating AI solutions with enterprise applications and workflows.

• Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and cost management for AI systems.
