Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Design and develop the knowledge graph that encapsulates structured content, its interconnections, and its provenance.

• Take ownership of the RAG retrieval pipeline from beginning to end — including chunking strategy, embeddings, hybrid retrieval, re-ranking, and evaluation.

• Propel measurable enhancements in retrieval quality, hallucination rates, token economics, and latency.

• Collaborate directly with key customers to define what "grounding" entails in practice for enterprise AI implementations.

• Contribute to the foundational architecture upon which Paligo's AI initiatives will be established.

• Work alongside our CISO to ensure that our developments align with security standards and data protection requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a software engineer, with substantial full-stack expertise.

• More than 2 years of experience delivering AI features to production — beyond mere experimentation.

• Direct, hands-on experience in constructing RAG systems and engaging with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval evaluations.

• Familiarity with knowledge graphs, graph databases, or structured retrieval methodologies — along with the discernment to determine when graph-based retrieval is superior to vector search, and vice versa.

• Proficient skills in TypeScript, Python, backend development, and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS).

• Knowledge of containerization and infrastructure-as-code practices.

• Understanding of agentic workflows and MCP-style tool integration.

• A strong product sense to make informed trade-offs between retrieval quality, cost, and latency.

• Professional proficiency in English.
