Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance the agent runtime at Newfront.

• Design and manage RAG and document understanding pipelines for intricate insurance documents.

• Create the connector framework that allows AI agents and pipelines to interface with the systems utilized by brokers.

• Establish the evaluation and observability framework for AI initiatives at Newfront.

• Oversee model routing and manage the model gateway.

• Implement and manage on-premise model hosting solutions.

• Deliver AI product features from inception to deployment on the platform.

• Guide engineers in production AI systems, evaluate designs, and assist in establishing best practices for reliable AI in financial services.

• Collaborate with security, privacy, and compliance teams to integrate controls into the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in professional software engineering.

• Proficient programming skills in TypeScript, including experience with Node.js or another TypeScript backend framework in production environments.

• Strong foundation in API design, data modeling, testing, production system debugging, code review, and teamwork in a shared codebase.

• Familiarity with contemporary development and deployment methodologies (e.g., containerization, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, production observability).

• Experience in designing systems that prioritize reliability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability in production.

• Enthusiasm for keeping abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML and applying them to practical issues.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a pragmatic, efficient approach to addressing challenges.

• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, with the capacity to work with product teams and effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
